Introverts as Communication Professionals

The above statement is not true because there are many areas of communication you can thrive in as an introvert.

Most times when people say the above statement, they say it with the belief that they have to appear on camera, host a radio show, or do some heavy networking.
You can be in communications and never face a camera or appear on TV because you can choose to pursue a career in internal communications, digital marketing, social media management, content strategy, data translation, copywriting, and more. In fact, I have found that a lot of communication roles are behind the scenes, instead of in front of the lights, the camera, and the action.

A lot of times, introverts are listeners instead of speakers and listening is key when you are in the world of communication. There are other skills that you need to thrive in communications like an eye for details, the ability to think outside the box, the ability to manage various perspectives, knowledge of conducting and applying relevant research, and more.

I also found research that states that 57 % of reporters are introverts and that is because introverts are not necessarily afraid to communicate or shy they just prefer to reserve their words and energy for when they have something meaningful to say.

So yes, you can be introverted but be an excellent professional in the world of communications.
